Aneeka described what happens to a body when its soul leaves, using the example of an immersion pod avatar whose operator dies. The body returns to react only according to what is in the so-called astral body with its memory but is or would be an empty person, Matrix again (Transcript 154). This tells us something important: an NPC body does have what is called an astral body — an energy field that stores memory and governs basic responses. It is not energetically blank.
