The reptilians, knowing the Federation was approaching, set up a fictitious base on planet Tiamat to transmit decoy signals and mount an ambush. A large Federation combat fleet led by Taygeta entered the solar system, fell into the trap, and "there was tremendous space combat of epic proportions even by today's standards, and it resulted in the destruction of more than 75% of the forces of both the Federation and the Reptilians" (138). The weapons used — zero-point and thermonuclear — destabilised Tiamat's ocean and magnetosphere, destroying the planet entirely. The resulting cataclysm devastated Mars, flooded Earth, destroyed both Atlantis (the reptilian civilisation) and Lemuria (the Taygetan resistance base), and rearranged the orbital dynamics of the entire solar system.
What remained after the flood was "a vastly destroyed reptilian culture with no technology left and a small amount of Lyrian people" (138). The reptilians were few in numbers compared to the surviving Lyrians, so they shifted from physical enslavement to mind control. The Lyrians of those times themselves manifested all that, a long, long time ago" (086). The wars were real. The destruction of Tiamat was real. The death toll was real. The Van Allen Bands, the 3D frequency suppression, the entire Matrix system exists because the Federation cannot allow an immature race that manifests nightmares into interstellar society where manifestation is instantaneous. In 5D, where thought manifests rapidly, uncontrolled fear-based creation would be catastrophic not only for humans but for neighbouring races. Swaruu uses a direct analogy: "You have 40 aliens, of which 35 know how to manifest things and know how to create the perfect world in which to flourish, but five still do not understand how. The "allowance" of reptilians is therefore not permissiveness toward an enemy — it is the consequence of allowing a developing race to face its own creations. When asked specifically about reptilians, Aneeka responds: "Lizards, as reptilian races, not all are regressive." And Nai'Shara adds: "And finally they are human creations" (098). The reptilians are never eliminated between cycles because they are not a separate problem — they are an intrinsic feature of the system that reappears each time the system is rebuilt, generated anew by the fears of the incarnating souls. This is why the Federation maintains them rather than removing them: "As long as the False 3D Matrix is standing, whatever version, it serves as an experience for souls. That's the purpose.
